Diving Loon Linocut Print in Navy

This original lino print, "Diving Loon," was printed by hand using a linocut block. This process begins by drawing an image and transferring it to a linoleum block, then carving it by hand with specialized tools. To print, I ink the block and use hand tools to print the image onto the paper. This block is printed on soft, 100% cotton printmaking paper that is acid-free and archival. Linocut printing is a lovely process that allows the paper to pick up some of the stray marks (or "chatter") left intentionally on the block. Each print is signed and dated.
