Blue Wren in the Pines Linocut Block Print in Blue

This original linocut print, "Wren in the Pines," was printed by hand using a linocut block. This process begins with a drawing that I transfer onto the lino block and then carve by hand with small hand tools. I then ink the block by hand and and use firm pressure with hand tools to transfer the image onto the paper. This print is made by using soft, 100% cotton printmaking paper that is acid-free and archival. Linocut printing is a lovely process that allows the paper to pick up some of the stray marks (or "chatter") left intentionally on the block. Each print is lovingly pulled by hand in my home studio, then signed and dated by me.

Printed in blue ink on Legion cotton printmaking paper, soft white in color. I currently have two shades of blue in stock--choose from a deep navy or softer cyan.

Note: this listing is for the unframed print only. I use lightfast Cranfield inks and premium printmaking paper that is 100% cotton and archival, which means your print will last a lifetime.

This print is shipped in a protective cellophane sleeve and rigid mailer, marked "Do not bend." It ships via USPS with tracking, and faster shipping is available as an upgrade at checkout.
