"Aquatic," Lino Cut Print with Fish

This original linocut print is made by printing a carved linoleum block. Perfect to brighten up your home or office, this print is approximately 8 x 10 inches (image size) with a generous border of white space that makes for easy framing in a standard frame. Paper size is approx 9.5 x 12.5 inches. This print is part of an edition, and each one is signed and numbered. Titled "Aquatic," this print is hand-pulled using traditional printmaking methods.

Printing with linocuts is a laborious process, but one that I love. It begins with transferring or drawing an image onto a linoleum block and then carving it with special tools. After a pulling a few test prints (and usually more carving), the block is ready to ink up and print for real. For this print, I did not use a press, but pulled each print by hand, using a baren to achieve the best ink coverage on the paper.

This edition is printed on a special translucent paper from the Neenah company in Atlanta, GA. (It's acid-free UV/Ultra paper, which is a premium archival paper that will last a lifetime and will remain colorfast.)
