Tuxedo Cat Linocut Print
This original art print, "T.C. Found the Catnip," was hand-printed with hand-carved linocut blocks. This version of the print is printed in two colors, using two different blocks, and is finished with white-line details in acrylic paint. The linocut process begins by carving a linoleum block with an image, then inking the block and either printing it by hand or by using a printing press to print the image onto the paper. "T.C." is inspired by an elusive tuxedo cat who visits our yard and romps in the flowers.
This variation is printed on heavyweight cotton Stonehenge paper, a premium quality printmaking paper that is acid-free and archival. Cranfield inks are color-fast, which means your print will last for decades to come. Linocut printing is a lovely process that allows the paper to pick up some of the stray marks (or "chatter") left intentionally on the block. Each print is signed and numbered. This is a varied edition, which means there are slight differences between prints due to the hand-drawn white-line details made with acrylic paint.
